Whereas the terms counselling and consultation have a legal meaning in some areas ( e.g. genetic counselling ) in some countries, there is presently no good agreement about general definitions, scope and guidelines internationally.
Some guidelines are suggested for in specific areas areas such as dietary familly medicine.
